Nemea – Nafplio
Nemea
Nemea, with its long history and its major importance for modern Greece, is ideal for a quick visit, since it is only a short drive away from Porto Heli and AKS Hotels. In the ancient years Nemea was a major hub and hosted famous sports events; the archeological site there can witness to that. Today you’ll go to Nemea to see the most important wine-producing region in the country. You can visit the wineries, the vineyards, even the wine museum, and if you find yourselves in Nemea at the end of summer or the beginning of autumn, then you can take part in the renowned Wine Festival.
Nafplio
Porto Heli is a beautiful town and your stay at AKS Hotels can offer you all you need from your vacations. But if you want to see other towns, then Nafplio is only ninety minutes away by car. It is no accident that it is considered one of the most beautiful places in Greece. The imposing Palamidi with its 999 steps looms over Naflplio and Bourtzi and makes your entrance to the town already a unique experience. But Nafplio wants to be explored on foot, since every step reveals a piece of the town’s history. Admire the neoclassical buildings, the churches and the mosques of the old capital of Greece, but you should also visit the Archeological Museum, the Folk Museum and, finally, the really interesting Komboloi Museum.
